The World Revolves Around Me

Lately I have become aware of a new truth that is formulating in my life.

Spiritual Growth: Measures for How Youre Doing

In my yard are quarter-circles of grass growing taller than the rest. There ?s also a 12-foot circle with no grass. What explains these phenomena? Alien laser blasts? A Martian landing site? No. The arcs are where we threw lawn fertilizer, and the circle is where the above-ground pool stood. Whether growth is fast, slow, or non-existent, the difference is easy to discern.

Homeless, Rejected, and Poor

Fanny J. Crosby?s famous hymn, ?Tell Me the Story of Jesus,? describes the Savior in terms of Isaiah 53: ?He was despised and afflicted,? and then adds, "homeless, rejected, and poor.? Last week, as we sang this beautiful song, I focused on that word, ?homeless,? and thought about all of the connotations we give to it these days.

What Is The Spiritual Path?

For many years of my life, I thought the spiritual path had something to do with following one of the major world religions or pursuing an Eastern practice. I even thought it had something to do with morality and ethics.

Can You Live The Christ Life?

Were you lied to as newborn Christian? I was...let me explain.

How Its Always Now

How do we feel the fullness of life itself?

Becoming Enlightened

Enlightenment, which is as varied as each individual?s fingerprint, is an experience of regaining our perfection in God or Christ consciousness, and words alone cannot express the joyfulness and peace in that discovery. God energy is perfect energy, and because we are God?s offspring, so are we perfect. Standard religious beliefs try to convince us that this perfection is achieved somewhere in the ?by and by.?

A Bellyful of Mindfulness

Taco Bell, the Mexican fast-food franchise, has a new ad campaign focusing on the slogan, "Get full." The commercials show people ecstatically announcing that they are full--thanks, of course, to the huge value meals now available at Taco Bell.

Carelessness

"For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisors make a victory sure." --Proverbs 11:14, NIV

What Is Wrong With Being Common?

The Emmaus Journal

Bone Box of the Rich and Famous

The contrast between the two men could not have been more striking. Caiaphas, the high priest, was among the rich and famous, arguably the most powerful Jew alive in A.D. 30. He had married into the high priest's family and now was himself high priest for a year by Roman appointment. With a PhD-level rabbinic education, Caiaphas was urbane and sophisticated.

Going Where Youve Never Gone Before

One of the first issues people on the spiritual path have to address is a doctrinal one: Is it wrong to ask questions that I've never asked before? Is asking questions about the truth we've been taught "sinful?" Your answer can have a dramatic effect on your ability to explore who you are and what you believe in without guilt!

Creating Our Own Emotional Chaos

It's amazing how - even when we're working from a "higher vision" - we still see the people, the events and the circumstances in our lives with the same perspective: our own! It's "only human" to always be able to see how right we are in any given situation, and it's always difficult - and sometimes impossible! - to look at ourselves and our actions through the other person's eyes. But if we really want to grow - if we really want to know who we are - then we have to be willing to look at ourselves a little more objectively - a little more realistically - then we're used to doing, and we have to be willing to accept responsibility - both for the way we express ourselves emotionally, and for the effect we have on other people through that expression.

Connecting to Spirit

Every soul that is currently experiencing life on any level begins and ends as a whole. Our essence ? the very core of our spiritual being ? remains One with God. We always have been, and always will be, a part of ?the whole? that is the God-consciousness level.

Livin On A Prayer

When I was a child, I thought as a child, and I prayed as a child. Every night I closed my eyes tightly and said the words my mother taught me:
