Self-Confidence Sliding Downward!
There are times in all of our lives where our self-confidence wanes!! This past week was one of those weeks for me. I questioned the work I was doing, both on the web sites and on our crafts. I found myself wondering if all my time and effort was worthwhile. Would our newfound business provide the income we needed? Is my work good enough for others to want to buy or to read? These are only a few of the questions that ran through my mind. And, with every question, my self-confidence was sliding downward!
Success, the Only Option
One often hears people say they can't sketch because they don't have 'the talent' even to draw a straight line. When was it somebody told you "Oh, I can't play the piano; I'm such a klutz!"?
This may sound quite aberrant to most of the younger generations who are not really exposed to the personality development articles, books or motivational lectures.
The Trouble with the Mind
Bernard always had a problem with money.
Positive Attitude is Not Enough
Contrary to the popular saying "attitude is everything" attittude is not enough. You can have the right attitude and all the motivation in the world and still wind up playing "dead atheist."
If Youre Stuck Then Make a Different Decision
Many people don't really understand the gift they have been given in their ability to be decisive. According to the dictionary, decisiveness means 'having the power or quality of settling a dispute, question, doubt, contest, event, etc.' How individuals use this power of decisiveness will strongly influence the quality of life that they experience.
Why Should You Forgive?
When I teach private Yoga sessions, sometimes, I become aware that a client has issues that cause anxiety, depression, and a negative outlook on life. This often causes difficulty for the student when trying to practice a stage-by-stage relaxation, and especially during meditation sessions.
New Attitudes-New Possibilities
I AM SO GRATEFUL for meeting challenges head-on. We see mistakes as learning experiences in disguise, And reach turning points in times of crisis, We find serenity in the midst of turmoil-- It's not what happens to us, but what we make of it that counts.
How to Build Rock Solid Self Confidence
You have probably noticed those people at work, school, and in your daily life that always appear to be self confident and on top of world.
Heal and Release the Past
I had a completely different idea for my main article but certain events that happened today helped me to tune into my soul and listen for what I really want to write about.
Welcoming the Unexpected
As I walked my dogs recently on what "should" have been a beautiful and balmy spring morning here in Las Vegas, I was bundled up, head ducked into the wind wishing spring would hurry up and get here. It was a day that reminded me more of mid-December than early May. It also reminded me of how programmed we are to expect things to be predictable (meaning: to be as we want them to be), whether that is in matters of weather or anything else. Life is, by its very nature, unpredictable. And there is no end to the misery we generate expecting it to be otherwise.
Failure is Celebration Time
Failure is my favorite subject. For I have spent my life failing. My failures have not been once in a lifetime affaire. They have been too numerous even to begin listing them here. Let me brag a bit more. My failures have never been ordinary failures. Whenever I failed, I was literally on the street not knowing where my next meal would come from.
Shifting Your Paradigm
What is a paradigm? In my own words, a paradigm is a belief system. It can be a personal belief system, or one held by a mass number of people, or even the whole world. Such a belief system is so entrenched in our minds as truth that it usually does not occur to us to question it. Therefore, many of us never even think that maybe this thought pattern needs updating. But, inevitably there are those that go against the common thought, and begin to challenge long held beliefs. More and more people begin to awaken, each individual begins to change their personal belief system, and the phenomenon that occurs as this old belief system comes tumbling down is often referred to as a paradigm shift.
Mastering Your Moods: How To Take Charge Of Your Feelings
John Ryder awakens feeling rested, refreshed, and sensing a calm vibrancy surging all through him. Hopping eagerly out of bed, he showers, dresses, and with a gleam and sparkle in his eye, goes downstairs to his kitchen and puts on some coffee.
Looking For Answers In All The Wrong Places?
Looking around at our circumstances we may see only mountains of problems, debts piling up, fear, failure, and defeat at every corner. Maybe you've looked around and thought, where's the answer, I need a new life?
Change Your Mind; Change Your Luck
When I was a young man, even a teenager for that matter, I always had an optimism that was hard for others to overcome. Even in the midst of the all the negative influences from family and peers, this positive optimism was difficult to beat down. I was powerful, I was lucky, life was magic. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Positive Thinking: Polyanna Syndrome
Why do we have such a downer on Pollyanna? After all, she is just a little girl with a big dose of positive mental attitude. Instead of mocking, may we should learn something from her. I'm not saying we have to turn into Pollyanna, but when you think about it, positive thinking is the only sensible way forward. Our thinking creates our reality, so isn't it just a bit daft to be creating our reality based on negative thinking? When we realise this, we understand we cannot afford the luxury of negative thinking.
I Know I Can, I Know I Can
I'm sure most of you remember the children's book about The Little Train That Could. I have to admit that at my age, I don't remember the exact title or exactly how the story goes, but I don't recall the idea in the story.
Are You A Victim Of FABS? Part One
Have you heard of the FABS? The FABS are quadruplets; they are not identical but they are very, very similar! The FABS are: Fear, Anger, Blame and Shame. This quartet love to arrive, uninvited, at people's houses and literally stay forever. They will certainly stay as long as you allow them to; they never seem to get tired of hanging around and causing troubles for the unsuspecting host.
