Getting Out... Together
So many things in society today try to urge us to focus on the "self", with the "it's all about me" attitude. As couples, or companionships, perhaps we should concentrate some of that "me" energy on "us". More relationships would work so much better if we focused on doing what makes us both happy.
From my own personal experiences with relationships I believe in a concept that I have been working with, at least in my mind's eye, which is to give generously of yourself in your relationship. Always do what you can for your partner to make him or her happy, regardless if they invest in you. I call my concept "The Concept of 100%". As a result of this I was happy, and never felt bad when I had to separate myself from a relationship. I believe that when you invest your 100% percent's worth, you never gets hurt, or at least not to the same extent as when someone didn't. The question will always come to mind "What if I had invested more into the relationship?". I do not like this statement and have always tried to avoid it. This concept came to my rescue. I grew to be a better person from my experiences. I don't regret a thing.

It also means that if your dating becomes serious, you are less likely to have problems with family members disapproving of your choice. Of course, it shouldn't matter if they disapprove of your date or not, but in all honesty, the opinion of anyone you respect or love will have an effect on you, which could lead to problems.

To Cheat or Not To Cheat
You know I am getting fed up with people who cheat. That seems to be the norm these days. I am having a hard time trusting right now. My friends are getting cheated on and I have recently been the victim of it myself. People who cheat really hit a nerve with me. Why can you not just be honest? I mean are you afraid someone is going to be upset if you don't want to see them anymore? Well how the hell do you think they are gonna feel when they catch you cheating?? How are YOU going to feel then?

A Look at Interracial Relationships
There's something about America, our history, our values or maybe the very contradictions of our society that can still make interracial relationships a lot more difficult than others. Most relationships deal with mostly internal pressures with perhaps a little added tension from family or friends. Interracial relationships deal with all of the usual difficulties plus negative input from society at large, which means that people you don't even know and have never met will have an opinion about your relationship, often negative, simply because two people from different groups have fallen in love.
