How to Tune In Your Brain and Feel Motivated in Minutes
Want to know how to run your brain and be more motivated?
Let me tell you a true story...
One day when I was in school, many years ago, the school principal wandered into our class room, sat down and started to talk.
He talked and talked and there was nothing we could do to stop him seeing as how he was in charge!
For once he actually said something that interested me and I never forgot what he said. Not because he was so original but because he was the first person I heard saying it.
That day he spoke about the untapped potential of the human mind and how we are all capable of so much more than we realize.
And how once you learn how to use more of this vast intelligence you can become much more successful.
This distinction has a special significance when it comes to motivating yourself. Because on those days when you are not motivated the solution to your problems may seem elusive. Even though you are capable of handling the situations you find yourself in.
If you could approach each day with an attitude of demanding more from yourself than anyone else ever would - you would be shocked at what you can achieve. You would be using more of your potential and making great progress.
Silly tasks you have to perform then become stepping stones to something far grander and problems become opportunities for you to grow and impress not only yourself but everyone else around you.
The challenge for you right now comes down to getting started.
Once your engine is running the momentum will keep you going but what do you do if you feel stuck and unable to begin?
You need to learn how to run your brain!
All of that vast potential is not being used because you do not know how to activate it. When you discover how easy it is to become motivated you will be amazed that something that once seemed so complicated can actually be so simple.
Here is something you can do right now to experience how your mind works - it is an application of research carried out by behavioral scientists in the 1970īs.
Think of something you are highly motivated to do and choose something else you want to get done which you are not motivated to do.
Now compare how you represent these two experiences in your mind in terms of pictures, sounds and feelings.
Take the task you need to get done and change the way you think about it by giving the picture, sound and feeling the same qualities as the motivated experience. i.e. picture size and color, sound volume and pitch, intensity of feelings.
This is difficult to do the first time you try it but it gets easier with practice. When you learn more about peak performance you will be able to do this in a matter of minutes. And go from feeling apathetic to feeling energized and highly motivated.
This time spend learning how to run your brain will transform the quality of your life even more quickly than you can imagine.

ADHD - Its a Wonderful Life
As I usually do over the Holidays, I watched one of my all-time favorite actors in one of my all time favorite movies and that's Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life". Co-starring Donna Reed and made in the 1940s, the movie was not critically acclaimed at the time, but over the years has become a stable of the Holiday Season. If you have not seen it, you need to, and if you have, then you all know it revolves around a small town businessman George Bailey from Bedford Falls, New York, who, as he grows up, has all of these dreams of doing wonderful things with his life, and hopes of traveling to all the farthest points in the world. His plans are constantly interrupted by world events and family circumstances, which include the death of his father, the great depression, and World War II. George's father and his Uncle Billy years earlier had started the Baileys Brothers Building and Loan to help the less fortunate people of Bedford Falls obtain the great American Dream of home ownership. Their only alternative is high rent or exorbitant interest rates to the local scrooge Mr. Potter. Uncle Billy is a classic ADHD type individual. An Irishmen, like me, who apparently has never been married, has a pet crow he carries around with him, and a pet squirrel at home. He is constantly worrying and has little self esteem.
A Wake Up Call

The Top Ten Strategies to Employ When You Feel Like Quitting
Ever feel like quitting? "Are you kidding?" you ask, "A better question would be, 'How many times TODAY have I felt like quitting?' " Sure. We've all felt like "throwing in the towel" at one time or another. If you haven't, I suggest that you check your pulse quickly. And here's a real shocker for you: the notion that "winners never quit" is a crock! Everyone - even "winners"- has not only felt like it, but has even quit at one time or another.

The Day Your Life Will Change for Good!
Many people long for a better life. In fact, I think it is innate to humans to desire a better life. Wherever we are at we look beyond and dream of a better place. That is good, and that is not so good. It is good because the dream is alive and we can see, even if it is far off, a better situation for us, our families and our businesses and communities. So why is it not good? It is not good because it is not yet a reality! A dream is no good if it is only a dream. Sure a dream can make you feel good but long-term, if you don't pursue it and make it a reality, it will cause you frustration more than anything. But there is hope!
