Simple Risk Reversal Formula Will Send Your Sales Into Space (2 of 2)
Make A Bold Promise Then Back It Up With An Awesome Guarantee We finished the last article with a mnemonic... All these extra sales you're going to make are in the B.A.G. A Bold Promise backed up with an Awesome Guarantee So today we'll look at what makes a Bold Promise and the three elements of an Awesome Guarantee! A bold promise should be something that your customer really desires and which most of your competitors would be too afraid to make. Some people use, "we won't be beaten on price", or "lowest prices guaranteed" but being the best on price is a stupid way to position your service business anyway. So stay away from price-promises and deliver a value-promise instead. A value promise means you can charge more instead of less - leading to higher profits. Some Sample Bold Promises... * I will double your orders in less than 12 months * You will get at least 5 times your investment back * This book will help you get beach fit in 6 months * I will remove your ISSUE/PROBLEM/PHOBIA in 1 hour * We'll deliver XYZ in under 60 minutes * You'll learn at least 5 things to increase your revenue Now on to the awesome guarantee. There are three things that make a guarantee awesome... 1. It's Unconditional. There should be no long list of conditions that must be met by the buyer in order to get their money back if you screw up. It should be simple and free of tricks - people should feel 100% confident that you are sincere when they buy. 2. It's Long. Now here's a funny thing - the longer you guarantee something for the lower your return rate. Why? Well if you give a piddly, tiny, guarantee period, people (in an effort to ensure their purchase was good) will spend that time looking for things that might be wrong. If they don't feel time pressure, they'll simply forget to look - after all they have all the time in the world... I recommend at least 30 days - but there's nothing wrong with months or even years - our Lean Marketing Toolbox is guaranteed for 5 Years - and I've had not one return yet! 3. It Creates A "Forced Performance Effect". This one works like magic. You not only remove risk by ensuring your customer gets their money back BUT you also penalise yourself for failure. This way people get a double-whammy! Not only do you remove their risk - you reverse it entirely - meaning it's in your interests to deliver what you promised! Some Sample Awesome Guarantees * You get a full refund and keep the product worth £XXX - no questions asked * The next time you visit it's on me! * I'll gladly reimburse your fee and provide your next session free * I'll give you a free 1 hour consultation/coaching session worth £XXX * We'll refund your money and give you £XX For Your Trouble Putting It All Together... Simply bolting an Awesome Guarantee onto a Bold Promise can sound awkward and disjointed. So your final job is to a make the promise and guarantee with one simple statement. Some examples... If __________________ doesn't _______________, then _______________________ If this course doesn't give you at least 5 new techniques for boosting sales, then I'll reimburse your fee in full and pay for your train ticket home. If this 6-week fitness programme doesn't help you lose at least 2 inches from your waist size, then I'll gladly give you your money back and a beach wear gift voucher worth £25 If after one session of my NLP spider phobia cure you still can't hold a spider in your hand without fear, then I'll give you your money back and provide the next session free of charge. ________________________ or _______________________________ Double your sales success rate within 6 months or you get a full, no-questions-asked refund and a free place on my next course. Read this book and find the man/woman of your dreams in 6 months or less or tell me what went wrong and I'll gladly buy the book back and give you a free 1 hour telephone coaching session. Have fun with this and be creative - it's powerful. But never promise what you can't realistically deliver (guarantee or not) and make sure you can deliver on your awesome guarantee when someone calls you on it. This one approach could literally transform your business and boost conversion rates beyond recognition. What the Heck is Branding and Why Should I Care? There's been a lot of buzz lately about branding. But what exactly is it, and who needs to do it? Simply put, a brand is what makes your business uniquely YOU! It's the way you present your business and how the world perceives it. And, importantly, it's the way your clients remember you when it comes time to make another purchase. Branding encompasses your key marketing messages and tagline, logo, marketing materials, image, and your clients' complete experience with you from start to finish. Branding - More Than Just a Statement - A Memory Scar Conjure up in your mind broad rolling meadows with runs of cattle or stock of some type, all discriminate by virtue of a registered brand. That's a most common and accepted understanding of branding. All About Branding In this article i will explain how you can make your brand an succes. No Logo? Launching A Business Without a Logo Can Sabotage You Initial lack of customers and cash flow often causes a small business to put off designing a logo and marketing materials professionally "until [they] got a few clients" or "until [they] get started." Designing their own marketing materials when they launch their business, instead of having them professionally created, will make getting those initial clients more difficult, and may result in a business that will not succeed. Co-Branding in Automotive Service Businesses In a world of co-branding, point of destination strategies and co-op marketing; all industries are evolving and diversifying to capture greater profits within a single brick and mortar location. The same strategies are used on the Internet only you can see it happen faster in real time on Internet web sites. In general much of the new thinking has been customer driven due to lifestyle changes, low unemployment, time factors and quality of life issues of the consumer. Branded Email: Email Branding is the Next Generation of Email All You Need is Branded Email Or Always Branded Email There to Remind Me Brand Identity and the CEO This week I spent a few hours with a highly successful CEO discussing his brand identity questions and concerns. "What do the most successful brand initiatives have in common?" he asked. I shared an observation with him based on many years of having similar conversations and being involved in successful (and not so successful) branding programs. Why Having A Niche Automatically Boosts Your Credibility - Become The Expert by Getting Focused Yes, yes, we've heard it all before... loads of life coaches, consultants and therapists are struggling to make a decent living but still stick at it because they love their job. Getting Started in the Mail Order Business. How Much Does It Cost? INTRODUCTION Business Case Study Automotive Detailing Franchise Company How do automotive detailing companies start? What makes them work and how do they grow? How do they choose which services they will offer? This is an interesting case study about a test market of a franchise company in the cleaning business and how they went about setting up Auto Detailing Shops. It maybe of interest to your business study and research; I am familiar with this story because it is one of the companies that I founded. Why You? -- Professional Identity Branding You can have first-rate products and services, but if you can't establish the need, communicate the benefits and differentiate yourself from the competition in ways that make people want to do business with you, you'll forever be selling up hill. Intelligent Design comes from Brand & Account Planners I've been reminded recently, rather forcefully, that not all reality hackers are anti-neoconservatives. Bush endorses teaching 'intelligent design'. I can't help hearing "intelligent design" as emerging from scores of focus group research. Branding: Bring Back the Jingle! Did you grow up in the '70s and '80s? If so, you probably have a slew of campy jingles from various TV commercials filed away in your brain. Today, advertisers still use jingles to help identify their brand, but not nearly as much as they did "back in the day." Why is this? Fast Forwarding Your Business If you think only big corporate names need to think about things like brand names, think again. Your brand says a lot about you and your business, and that's as true for a one person home-based operation as it is for a multinational conglomerate. In this article we look at how creating a strong brand for your business can help you set yourself apart from the pack and lay the right foundation for the future growth of your business. Importance of Business Branding Branding is very important to a business, whether it is an online or offline business. Your brand will be the first impression the public has of your business and could very well be the most important one. The goal in business branding is to give consumers a visual image of your company. Business branding is very important to a business because it allows the public to identify your company name on sight. Quick Tactics To Brand Your Business And Make More Sales This may come as a surprise... to you, but Branding is more than just Logo and Business or Product Name recognition. Branding On The Web Is Like Mining For Fools Gold I am sick and tired of marketing geeks touting the beauty of branding, brand building and just spouting branding in any context, especially when the term is used with "internet" or "web" or "digital!" You can't have a conversation today for more than five minutes without some marketing type throwing in a line about brand building! Living Your Brand on the Web - Part 2 Now that everyone has conformed to Living Your Brand on the Web, Part 1, it's time to add a couple of tweaks that will further reinforce your brand. McDonalds Supply Chain of Potatoes McDonald's buys its potatoes from corporate farmers in Idaho not the commodities market; therefore it limits its exposure to price gouging that might have occurred by using the commodity exchange to get those potatoes. Starbucks is doing the same thing, but instead of having partnerships and coffee beans, they are all of in-house. Its Starbucks owns the partnerships they grew the coffee then they might have a conflict of interest for their stockholders. Because they would be dictating the price of the coffee at the partnerships been sold to Starbucks. If they paid a little more than normal for those coffee beans, so the coffee plantation can expand by better production facilities and upgrade then Starbucks funneled money to those partnerships, that should have either paid in dividends, shown as profits or retained earnings. By doing that their stock price would go up and shareholders would be better served short-term. There is a lot more involved before that food or drink gets to your table. Commodities are very much part of the behind the scenes of our civilization. Play it Again Sam The marketing director for one of my longtime clients used to complain "does it have to be purple again?" What she and many others don't realize is that the color you are seeing in your sleep, your prospects might just be beginning to recognize, and if done well, associate with you. |
