Religion or Spirituality

There is a natural tendency to asociate spirituality with religion, but they are very different. That I did not know before I researched and wrote "Spiritual Clarity." Religion is an organized system of beliefs in and the worship of God or gods. Spirituality is finding your own authentic self. Each individual needs to find their own way to spirituality and if that includes religion, so be it. Some people will be perfectly content to just believe as they are told, others will need more. Nothing is wrong with either path.

Trust in God

Ecclesiasts 5:18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him-for this is his lot. 19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-this is a gift of God. 20 He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart.

There is Power in Believing

I once read a story about a Catholic priest who was a godly person. He was so godly that when he died people believed that his bones had healing powers.

Insulting Spirit or Exposing the Me

While it isn?t my intention to insult anyone (Alright, for the purposes of this article it IS my intention to insult any ?one?, and I?ll explain that later) I would like to offer a few suggestions for your reading enjoyment and/or disdain.

An Alternative to A Life of Healing

While I do hope to avoid arguing the merits or validity of seeing ourselves as primarily and essentially wounded and on a lifelong quest for wholeness via healing, I would like to offer another perspective on wholeness that may disagree with and/or upset some. This perspective is pointed at by the Mystical Traditions of the East and West, and one in which we begin with the understanding of our innate and eternal perfection. This view could be summarized as:

Interesting? (but unnecessary)

At any given moment, there are ?things? occurring within the open space of awareness. Sometimes there are inner ?things? occurring; a fleeting thought, a welling up of an emotion, a physical sensation. Sometimes there are outer ?things? occurring; an interaction, a perception of an event, an experience of some sort.

You Lookin At Me?

It's human nature to point a finger when we think someone else is guilty of something but yet we don't stop to consider that we too may be guilty of the very same thing we are accusing others of. Why is it so easy to turn a blind eye and overlook our own faults and yet so easy to see these faults in someone else? For some reason, we take pleasure in judging, condemning and criticizing others. Does it take the spotlight off us in drawing attention to someone else?

Why There Are Four Gospels

The first gospel written by Matthew, who is Levi, is the first archtype of Christ in you as the fulness of the Godhead.

There is Light at the End of the Tunnel - Just Get Out of Your Way !

There is light at the end of the tunnel, but some days it seems like it is miles away. You have done everything you can think of to do, physically or mentally and don't even get me started on the list of emotions that have been involved in the whole process of creating the dream that you have held within your mind's eye. The delays keep coming. You stop and tell yourself several times a day.. there is light at the end of the tunnel... don't give up now. The list keeps coming and we have heard them all... "Plant a seed and watch it grow" and "Rome wasn't built in a day" and still you wait.

The Spirituality of Pigeons!

I was walking down the street the other day, walking around the pigeons and saying ?good morning? to them when it dawned on me just how precious they are to the lives of city slickers.

Are you Addicted to ?NO?? Locating the YES! of the Heart

It seems to me that our moment to moment relationship to Life can basically be reduced to a ?YES? or a ?NO?. Let me explain?

Counsel for Non Church Goers

Not going to church has the advantage of having free time on Sunday morning and not having to bother with getting out of bed and traveling to the meeting place of worship service. In America you have the right to attend or not attend.

The Slippery Halls of Perspective.

As we walk these halls of Life viewing the world and ourselves through our limited and often times limiting perspectives, who can really fathom the depth of another? Didn?t we all at one time believe in Santa Clause? Didn?t we all believe at one time, that when we closed our eyes we disappeared? Didn?t we all used to believe we were the center of the world? Where did those perspectives go? Are we now sure that we have it ?really right?, or are we still clutching at temporary viewpoints and transient opinions, unknowingly defending mirages? Who can really judge who sees clearly? Who can really say who is deluded? Who is really in touch with reality? Perspectives change and for the most part do not belong to us, but rather happen to us. All perspectives are partial, and because they are partial, they are incomplete (even this one). Because they are incomplete they are in a sense, a lie (even this one). A perspective is one particular view point of one particular ?viewer? (person), from one particular space, frozen in one particular moment in time. One moment?s perspective is also the next moment?s food. But if we are going to share a perspective that is always a partial truth and also a partial lie, can we at least do so while holding the perspective lightly? Can we see through our own limited views, thus freeing ourselves from their limiting nature? Because all perspectives are by nature temporary and partial, can we simultaneously see from and also see through our own opinions, judgements, biases, views or perspectives? Consider: as you lay on your deathbed in your final moments, how important were those perspectives you defended through out your passing life? Where are those perspectives now?

Ultimate Truth:The Beginning

You decide! We are often asked to make decisions. Decision is described as, the passing of judgment on an issue under consideration, the act of reaching a conclusion or making up one's mind, a conclusion or judgment reached or pronounced, hence a verdict.

Humanity Needs Islam

The human nature means the soul and the body. A man without a spiritual life is no longer a man. Equally, whoever proclaims that spiritual training can delete the materialistic demands of that body is a devil in the clothes of a saint. Can he give up sleeping? Is he ready to destroy his body and to be a soul flying in the world of ideals?
