3 Clues To Know Where You Fit In Ministry Part 1
Clue Number 1: You Have Talent You were born with at least one talent. One talent is all you need to have fulfillment in your life and ministry, if you use it. What Is a Talent? According to Webster's Dictionary, talent is the natural endowments of a person; or ability. Marcus Buckingham, author of 'First Break All The Rules,' defines talent as "a recurring pattern of thought, feeling, or behavior that can be productively applied." Talents are:
When you are free to express your talents in your ministry, the goals you set for your life become more attainable and you become more productive. A talent can be something as simple as an ability to remember names if channeled in a way that is productive. For example, one of the most important 48 hours is the time right after a person joins your ministry. Imagine having a person in your ministry who served God as the official "Connection Director." Within the first 48 hours Paula joins your ministry, your "Connection Director" contacts her. During a brief conversation your "Connection Director" learns the names of household members and their interests. When they hook up during the next service your "Connection Director" introduces Paula to Sandra by name, who has similiar interests and background. Why is this connection so important for Paula and your "Connection Director?" |

Are the words of the prophets on a par with the words of Jesus? The answer to this question may seem incongruous but it is not, even though the answer is both, yes and no. But don't be confused by this apparent conflict because it is easily explained. Living Without Blueprints Some people look at the biblical book of Revelation as a blueprint for the end of time. It tells exactly when the end will come, how it will come and who will be punished when it happens. Those with this perspective buy up apocalyptic fiction like the "Left Behind" series and confidently pronounce that we are in the "end times." They may even associate certain modern day figures or happenings with supposed end-of-times events. There are three basic problems with this perspective: (1) It is counter to the pronouncements of Jesus himself; (2) It ignores the long history of people who have tried to use Revelation in this way; and (3) It is counter to the nature of faith itself. Let's look at these three problem areas more closely. At least it was confirmed that she was not crazy. Through lack of knowlege, we however are quick to label this sickness as a brain disorder or just someone who is crazy.Obsessive compulsive disorder causes repeated behavior by the sufferer to the point that we veiw them as 'not normal'. Anyone who doesn't suffer from this to some degree can't imagine why anyone would keep repeating a certain action when they know it was already completed.But this where lack of knowlege comes in.When we aren't educated properly,we lack understanding and then rely on our opinions and not truth. A Poor Man, With Rich Mans Dreams Matthew 19:17-19:23 Biblically Speaking of Evil and National Security We have been learning to think Biblically and speak Scripturally about evil in order to teach our children about the dangers present in our fallen world, while setting our affections on things above (Colossians 3:2) and staying Spiritually minded (Romans 8:6). We first noticed that "it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret" (Ephesians 5:12), so we don't speak of those things. Where is God? Where is God? This is the question most often heard when things are not going right in our lives or we hear of senseless fatalities or extreme injustices. But I pose this question today because I cannot find Him in ways that I could when I was growing up.
