Self-Esteem: You Matter
You'd be surprised. Maybe amazed. If you could see the far reaches of your influence you'd be stunned. The point is: You matter.
How you breathe matters. How you think, the words you speak and the actions of your life, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, they have great power.
Two Kinds of Power
When we think abut power we usually think about will. You want something and you consider yourself powerful if you can achieve it. That is a very linear, directed and limited view of your power.
The power I'm talking about is quite different from that. It is the power of your being. The pure quality of your presence. And it radiates out in all directions. You can't help it.
You can't stop it. It is always generating waves from the center of your being. This never-ending flow of presence that emanates from your core is your true power. It is not your will. It is not trying to do anything. It simply is. And it is powerful.
This power, that is your essence, shines effortlessly. It is light. It is consciousness. Its influence is beneficial to all who have the good fortune to encounter you.
It is also subtle. Since the power of your consciousness is not physical like a rock or a brick, many don't even realize it is there. Since it is not personal like your face or your name, many don't even recognize it as you. But they'd know your cape anywhere. Your power is draped in your body and your personality and all the clearly noticeable colors of your power's human cape.
A Flashlight Under the Covers
When you were a kid did you shine a flashlight under the covers at night to read when you were supposed to be sleeping? What you probably didn't realize was that no matter how heavy the blanket was, the light shone through.
Well, you can make your cape very heavy with the weave of your personal history, but your light will still shine through. That's the good news because that's as bad as it gets.
As Good as it Gets
What if you set an intention to shine your light for all to see? What if you decide to allow your power its freedom? What if you let your cape flap in the breeze, fully expressive of your essence? When you release your power from the hitching post of your will, it reveals is true nature. When your cape stops trying to control your essence, your spirit lovingly animates your cape. Your essence is made of love. You are infinite power made of infinite love.
Realizing this sets you free. Feeling this makes your life joyful. Expressing this makes you an angel to others. Living this makes your life matter in the most profound and beneficial way. This is as good as it gets.
When I say that you matter, do you get a little uncomfortable? Do you worry about the consequences of your decisions? The ramifications of your "mistakes?" There is really nothing to worry about. Every moment is new. And your essence is shining just as brightly when you are in alignment with it as it is when you are all tangled up. So if you get a sudden burst of clarity about your previous patterns of tangle, that's great. If you start to realize the habitual ways that you cloak your own light and keep it from expressing through you, fantastic.
Now you've got clarity and perspective. Now you can bring yourself into greater and greater alignment. Abraham* always tells us, "You can't get it wrong and you'll never get it done." So, don't worry about mattering. It is only good. Rejoice in your essence and shine your love everywhere you go.
Sit with the intention of feeling the pure power of your essence devoid of the movements of your cape. Relax your consciousness and release anything that is effortful. Keep releasing. Sense the ground of your being. Pure consciousness. Simple being.
Like peeling an onion, go deeper and deeper into your pure space of being. You are powerful in your influence. And you are most powerful, most beneficial and most fulfilled when you let the power of your pure beingness shine from within you. Let your cape flow on the wind of your spirit. Your body, your personality, your thoughts, words, and deeds will become extraordinary.

Discover The Upside of Anger
Most of us are prone to anger! As we grow older, a certain degree of control keeps us in check, but the pot is on simmer and the lid is loosely fixed. An unexpected jolt, or a sudden increase in heat will nearly always result in a boiling cauldron.
The Ultimate Kick-butt Motivational Lesson
How often have you struggled with yourself over the work that needs to be done? How many times have you put off performing some task or other because it's too mundane?
Self-Limiting Beliefs: The Inner Enemies of Progress
What are they?
It's like that old joke about how long did it take Bell to discover the light bulb. Then realizing it was Edison who did it. Though I like to think he developed it rather than discovered. He was much more methodical and had a set goal in mind.
Do You Know Which Door To Open?
Do you remember that old television program that gave the contestant the opportunity to choose one of three doors and receive whatever was behind the door?
We stood in the kitchen talking. I was discussing my upcoming change in lifestyle. I was excited yet hesitant as I talked about it. We set a goal many years ago to change our lifestyle from one of the hectic city life, working to pay the bills?.. to one of a slower country pace, working on our "wanna do's". Yet as I talked to my friend about this, there was hesitation in my voice. Leaving a company where I had worked for over 26 years, leaving friends who have become like family to me, leaving a province where I had lived, raised my children and worked for the last 16 years. I expressed my concerns of leaving a steady paycheck for a much, much lower income. As I talked, that little voice in my head was saying, "what are you doing, will you be able to make it?"
Taking Action NOW: 9 Key Strategies...Part I
Awareness, understanding what impacts you!
What?s in Your Blind Spot?
We frantically search for our "lost" keys that are lying in plain sight on the kitchen counter. We don't we see the keys. Why not? Because we already decided "the keys are not there." And once we make that decision, we create a blind spot in our awareness. The result is that we don't see the keys where we don't expect them to be.
Ignite The Fire In Your Belly ? How To Move From Being A Procrastinator To An Activator!
Are you sick and tired of not getting ahead and just can't get yourself out of a rut? Well, there are certain requirements (accountability, responsibility, commitment to yourself, forgiveness, positive think and speak, synchronicity within and outside) to help facilitate a real change.
Comment on Extra Ordinary Men of Our Time
Remember during the missions of Apollo. And others we knew every astronaut by name, we made them heroes. We celebrated their bravery. And they were brave too. If you ever get to Alamogordo Space Museum, Lyndon B Johnson Space Center in Houston or Kennedy Space Center and Museum in FL and look at the little tuna cans these guys went up in space in you then know just how brave they were. If you get a chance go to the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ and look at the old brave technology you will simply want to relive a little of American technology, guts, glory and challenge.
Daily Motivation: 7 Methods
Isn't a lack of daily motivation one of the biggest problems we face when trying to better ourselves? We often know what to do, or at least the first few steps. But we hesitate, something else catches our attention, or we just don't feel like doing what we need to do.
Ten Major Causes of Failure
-Lack of a specific purpose in life. You can not hope to succeed in any field of your life if you don't have a central purpose. If you don't have a definite goal in your life then you will jump from one activity to another with no success. Almost 97% of people think and act this way. That's why successful people, who have a clear goal in their life, are very few.
Beginnings Arent As Complicated As They Seem
Beginnings are seldom as complicated as they seem. You know what I mean by "complicated ? the dates and the duties and the things-to-be-remembered, the stuff that piles onto your plate with a new project or obligation. Whether it's an urgent justice issue, a medical diagnosis forcing a changed lifestyle, or the work of starting a new job, the message is that a whole bunch of stuff HAS to be done, and you are the only one to do it, and do it NOW!
Creating Your Best Year Ever
January is synonymous with resolutions and getting organized is high on many people's list. Unfortunately, perhaps some of us make a resolution, when what we really want is a revolution.
The Art of Scripting Your Life
Writing a 'life script' is like writing a movie script. You need to create a feeling, evoke emotional responses and create the scenarios. You dream up the story, you write the lines and act it out. Why? Because you have the ability to create your life as you would like it to be. So many people live their life with the concept that they play whatever hand is dealt them. This can feel un-empowering, depressing and instill feelings of resignation and pain. You have so much more to do with your life plan than you realize.
How To Become More Patient
"Lord give me patience ? and hurry!"
Resistance Is Natural - but Not Helpful - in Times of Change
Here are five feelings we all experience in changing times. Check these out for yourself by thinking about times when you were experiencing significant life change, either personal or professional.
Nine Reasons To Embrace Failure
I've always heard that "public speaking" is the number one most common fear. According to a recent survey I conducted in my e-newsletter, however, this is not the case. Overwhelmingly my readership chose "failure."
I worked hard for the past 17 years. I felt I had to. I only finished high school. Without a certificate to flaunt and yet wanting to climb the corporate ladder, I dedicated my effort and time to my work. I was proud of myself. At 40 years old I had reached a manager's position.
