Two Months, Two Actions: First Steps to Success
Susan stood on the scale the other day. She had gained two pounds.
Fred muttered to himself, "damn smokes cost a ton and are killing me", as he passed another five dollar bill across the counter.
Mark promised his wife that this would be the year that they took a vacation, the same promise that he's made every year since they were married.
Do any of these scenarios sound familiar? Go to a mirror and take a good look at yourself. What you have done differently in these last two months? The New Year began, January and February are history, and what is different in your life? Did you follow through on any of your resolutions? Did you even bother to make any?
I hear people consistently talk about the things they want to accomplish in their lives. We all want to lose weight, get in shape, make and save more money, get ahead, quit smoking and more?.or do we?
Here is the dirty little secret about these broken promises: we don't really want to keep them. The real reason we don't accomplish our goals is because we don't do the work. We want things to simply "happen" for us. Except that life doesn't work that way. There are no magic solutions.
However, I have great news for you. If you decide to make positive changes in your life, you can! There are two things you need to do, two actions you must take, and you can accomplish anything!
The first is this: make a resolution to put the effort in to getting what you want. New Years' is not the only time you can make a resolution. Resolving to make a change is something you can do at any moment, so long as it is done with real intention and determination.
The next action is to learn and use a success system. Instead of concentrating on your goals, concentrate on a system that will lead you to that goal. Do you know what separates the successful and the unsuccessful? All successful people learn and follow a system. Once you do, you can repeat it and target every area of your life.
There are a great many systems that work, the important thing is to get started! To help you get going without delay, download your free copy of the "Resolution Success System" at ToolsToLife.com.
If you take these two actions, putting in the effort and learning a success system, you can accomplish anything. Do not let another two months slip by! Two actions and two months from now you will be on your way to a new place in life.

The Power Of Rules - Petty, Petty, Petty Rules
In 2004 a group of seven spoilt and often aggressive British teenagers were sent to a working ranch in Utah called "Turn-About Ranch" to undergo a regime of strict discipline and hard work.
12 Reflections on Personal Responsibility
Responsibility means being accountable for what we think, say, and do. Personal responsibility involves working on our own character and skill development rather than blaming others for situations and circumstances. It means choosing to design a life that honors our values and purpose.
Nothing More Than Feelings
"How are you Inventing Your Life Today?" ? the lead story from my last issue of Power & Presence ? drew comments from several readers. Most of the comments went something like: "I wish I could have the degree of control over my life that you apparently do."
Were Good at the Things We Like
Read that again. It doesn't say "We like the things we're good at," though that's true as well. No, it says we're good at the things we like. That statement was made to me just today in reference to something I hate to do and am not very good at. I just nodded, thinking I'd heard it the other way around, or that my sister had said it backwards. Then she repeated it and said, "It works the other way around, too, but we're good at the things we like."

The manifestations of motive
Motivation: The Power of Asking
Very shortly, in this paragraph, I'm going to share with you how to get just about anything you want. I usually try to keep things very simple and useable.
Why You Should Write Your Obituary Today
Writing your own obituary sounds and feels a little strange, I know. If the idea doesn't appeal to you, try pretending that you have just won an award and the newspaper is doing a feature story on your accomplishments. By recording what you wish to be remembered or acknowledged for, you will be able to pinpoint the values you would like to live by. And, by identifying your life's values you will be more able to live them now and in the future.
Motivating Yourself To Take Action Daily
Daily action towards a goal is the fastest way to achieve your goal. As you take daily action you see the results of that action fairly quickly if not immediately. Visible results which are clear and undeniable are huge motivators.
Vanity Killed My Car
When I was a freshman in college, my first car was a 1973 Dodge Swinger. Stop laughing! When I first bought the car it was quite sad looking. But hey, it was all I could afford for $700. I decided to save up enough money from my summer job and give my 'swinger' a swinging look. So I saved, and saved every nickel and dime for months.
Gremlins! Time to Take Control
It is a wonder we can function at all. Each of us has multiple personality types all crying for attention. Most of us think one way, work another, and feel in a personality style different from either working or thinking styles! And you question why you are sometimes confused?
Its a Habit
Do you sometimes have the feeling that you're running into the same obstacles over and over again? Many of my conflicts have the same feel to them, like "Hey, I think I've been here before," but I can't figure out how I wound up in the same place. The situation is different, but the conflict feels the same.
At A Dead End? Look Deeply Into My Eyes!
The president of a large North Eastern company, doing business internationally, was visiting his California division. While he was there, he saw a very large photograph of, of all people, himself, hanging on the wall.
Pushing Through Your Comfort Zone
Our greatest growth in life comes from pushing through our present comfort zone. This process starts at birth. A baby feels safe, warm and secure in its mother's womb. However, to stay there much longer than the gestation period would mean certain death for both the mother and child. Life began for all of us as we left the comfort and security of the womb and faced the strange and unfamiliar world outside. Our first breath is often a painful experience, a cry of protest at temporary discomfort. Yet without this experience, our life would be fleetingly short.
